Indictment against 15 people, including former minister of transport

The Prosecutor's Office has filed an indictment in connection with an investigation into suspected corrupt activities and participation in an organised crime group of the former Minister of Transport. The investigation has been conducted simultaneously by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau and the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, as well as the Special Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office in Kiev and the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine.

In July 2020, the officers of the CBA Regional Office in Gdańsk, based on decisions issued by the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, detained three persons suspected of demanding and accepting financial advantages from both Polish and foreign entities in return for illegally supporting those entities in announced tenders.

Among the detainees are Sławomir N. - former Member of the Polish Parliament, former Minister of Transport and former Head of the State Service of Motorways of Ukraine - Ukravtodor, Dariusz Z. - former commander of the military unit JW 2305 "GROM", and Jacek P. - an entrepreneur from Gdańsk.

In September 2020, further persons were detained, including Dariusz K. - former President of the Polish fuel and energy company and Wojciech T. - a former member of the Management Board of energy companies.

In January 2021, Łukasz Z., Grzegorz W. and Paweł G., entrepreneurs operating in the consulting and engineering industry, were detained.

In total, 15 persons were indicted. In connection with demanding and accepting financial advantages of more than 6.1 million PLN. In the course of the proceedings, property of over PLN 4.6 million was secured. Along with the indictment, funds secured during the investigation of USD 506 200, EUR 530 200, and PLN 30 thousand revealed during the search were handed over to the court. A luxury car was also secured during the investigation.
