Bribes for fixing a tender in a military hospital

The Regional Office of the CBA in Lublin, under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin is conducting an investigation into corruption - giving and accepting bribes from company representatives participating in public tenders organized by 1st Military Clinical Hospital with the SPZOZ Polyclinic in Lublin. The evidence was collected in cooperation with the Military Counterintelligence Service.

The findings of the CBA indicate that tenders were fixed for financial benefits - the specifications of the essential terms of the contract were consulted in an unauthorized manner, the group of entities participating in the tender was restricted, and the hospital was not able to obtain the best offer.

The CBA agents detained the head of one of the diagnostic laboratories of the Lublin hospital, which in 2017, taking advantage of the position held and the exercise of functions, he undertook actions aimed at securing winning the tenders favored by him contractors. The case concerns the delivery of ultrasound apparatus and medical equipment for 850 thousand PLN from a Warsaw company - the sole representative of one of the Japanese brands in Poland. The Bureau's officers also detained the commercial director of the company. Favor in scope of future preparations of terms of contract was to be provided to the company for bribes. Bribes in this case were money and a holiday trip.

The detentions after bringing to the Prosecutor's Office in Lublin will hear corruption charges. The Lublin CBA agents searched the suspects' flats, the manager's place of work and secured the documentation in the hospital.
