Irregularities in the Financing of the “Fair Courts” Social Campaign
Central Anti-Corruption Bureau officers have arrested two individuals in an investigation concerning the “Fair Courts” campaign. The arrested individuals are former members of the management board of a company operating primarily in public relations and communications, which carried out the “Fair Courts” social campaign under an agreement with the Polish National Foundation. The investigation is supervised by the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów.
On 23 September 2026, officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Rzeszów arrested two individuals – a woman and a man – in the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. They are suspected of irregularities related to the financing of the “Fair Courts” social campaign. Their places of residence were also searched, where extensive evidence was secured.
Losses to the Polish National Foundation estimated at PLN 8.5 million
The investigation has established that there may have been an abuse of powers and failure to perform duties by individuals responsible for the decision-making process. The arrested individuals allegedly contributed to a situation in which funds belonging to the Polish National Foundation were used contrary to their intended purpose.
Instead of pursuing the objectives of the “Fair Courts” social campaign, which concerned the justice system and judges, the interests of a particular political party were allegedly pursued. The individuals allegedly had a role in deciding on the content and form of the campaign, adapting it to recommendations previously submitted by the political party. The estimated value of the loss amounts to nearly PLN 8.5 million.
Charges and preventive measures
The arrested individuals were brought before the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Rzeszów, where they were charged, among other things, with causing damage in economic transactions, an offence punishable by up to 10 years’ imprisonment. The prosecutor imposed preventive measures on the suspects, including a travel ban accompanied by the retention of their passports, as well as police supervision accompanied by a ban on contacting each other and specified individuals.
This is the second operation carried out by CBA officers as part of the investigation.
