Former civil servant of the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin detained by the CBA

Another person connected with the investigation into corruption in the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin has been detained.

The officers of the CBA Regional Office in Warsaw have detained a former employee of the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin, who worked in the Construction Unit and was involved in issuing administrative decisions on building permits for individual investors and developers.  The man was detained in Warsaw. In the Warszawa-Praga District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, which supervises the proceedings, the detainee faced charges of accepting financial gains.

This is another person detained under the investigation concerning accepting and giving financial advantages to the civil servants of the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin.

The criminal activity consisted in accepting financial advantages by the civil servants of the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin and the District Building Inspectorate in Wołomin, who carried out official activities within administrative proceedings concerning construction investments. The financial advantages were given by the investors both at the stage of issuing construction decisions and the acceptance of the facilities for use. The practice, which had been going on for several years, was disrupted by the CBA in February 2019. Four individuals were then detained. To date, the status of suspects in the case has been granted to 8 persons, including former civil servants of the District Governor’s Office in Wołomin and the District Inspectorate of Building Supervision in Wołomin, as well as entrepreneurs operating in the real property development in the vicinity of Warsaw.
