Visit of the representatives of the Senate of the Czech Republic in the CBA

On 5 June 2019, a delegation of the Committee on Regulations and Senators of the Senate of the Czech Republic, headed by the Chairperson of the Commission, Ivo Bárek, have visited the headquarters of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in Warsaw. The parliamentarians from the Czech Republic met with the Deputy Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau, assistant professor of the Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University in Warsaw, PhD Grzegorz Ocieczek.

The purpose of the meeting was to present to the Czech partners the statutory tasks and competences of the CBA, as well as the results of the Bureau’s activities. During the talks issues of interest to the Czech side have been discussed. The experiences have been exchanged and practical guidance on preventing and combating corruption has been presented.

During the meeting, the Deputy Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau has presented selected aspects of the service's functioning, including the anti-corruption prevention, as well as the most important areas, which are connected with cases conducted by the Bureau. The issue of transparency of public life has been also discussed, especially in the parliamentary context, including currently developed mechanisms for ensuring transparency.
