The CBA agents are searching the apartment of the member of the Polish national Parliament. Corruption case

The officers of the CBA started this morning to search a Warsaw apartment of an MP from Koszalin. The actions are related to the suspicion of acceptance of bribes by the MP, worth at least 200,000 PLN - at the time when he was deputy minister of environment in the government in 2007-2015.

The purpose of the CBA's activities is to secure things and documents that can provide evidence in the case.

The search, ordered to the Central Anticorruption Bureau by the West-Pomeranian Terrain Division of Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Public Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, is the effect of an investigation conducted since June 2013 on the so-called a drainage affair concerning irregularities in the implementation of at least 105 investments worth several hundred million zlotys, carried out by the West Pomeranian Board of Amelioration and Water Facilities in Szczecin. In the course of this investigation, 56 people have already been charged.

The MP was not detained nor charged - due to his parliamentary immunity. However, the immunity does not cover the MP's flat. Due to the interest of the investigation, it is necessary to quickly secure the evidence, and an earlier request to waive the parliamentary immunity might had led to its concealment and wronging the case.
