CBA’s M-AI-A Project Wins the EPAC/EACN Best Initiative Award 2026
The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau’s M-AI-A project has been recognised as the best initiative at the 25th EPAC/EACN Conference 2026. The award recognises innovative solutions that support the fight against corruption, strengthen integrity in public life and protect the public interest.
The 25th EPAC/EACN Conference was held in Budva and brought together more than 180 representatives of anti-corruption institutions and law enforcement authorities from across Europe. Participants discussed effective international cooperation, the exchange of experience and new challenges in preventing and combating corruption.
One of the key highlights of the event was the announcement of the winner of the “EPAC/EACN Best Initiative Award 2026”. The award is presented for innovative initiatives that make a significant contribution to promoting transparency, integrity and accountability.
Five projects competed for the award
Representatives of anti-corruption institutions submitted five initiatives for this year’s competition:
- “Preventing Corruption Before It Starts: Integrity in Education Development Strategy 2026–2030” – National Agency on Corruption Prevention,
- “IntegrityX: Next Generation – Inspiring a New Generation to Choose Integrity” – Commission for the Prevention of Corruption (KPK),
- “Protection Service Charter: a participative process involving whistleblowers” – Antifraud Office of Catalonia,
- “M-AI-A – Integrated AI Services Platform” – Central Anti-Corruption Bureau,
- “The School for Integrity and Prevention of Corruption: Empowering Young People to Build a Culture of Integrity” – Agency for Prevention of Corruption of Kosovo.
The winning project was selected by the conference participants through a vote.
M-AI-A – CBA’s innovative project
The project presented by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau – M-AI-A – is an integrated platform using artificial intelligence solutions to support the performance of official duties. It combines tools for, among other things, text analysis and summarisation, translation, speech recognition, image processing and the use of a virtual assistant.
The solution enables information to be processed and analysed more efficiently, while also facilitating tasks that involve working with large volumes of data and materials.
International recognition for CBA
The award confirms CBA’s active role in developing modern solutions to prevent and combat corruption and in sharing good practices at the international level. The distinction also provides an opportunity to present the M-AI-A project and CBA’s experience more broadly to other institutions involved in combating and preventing corruption.
The “EPAC/EACN Best Initiative Award 2026” is also a commitment to further developing innovative solutions, raising operational standards and strengthening international cooperation in support of transparency and integrity in public life.
Another award for CBA
This is not CBA’s first success in the EPAC/EACN Best Initiative competition. In 2023, during the EPAC/EACN General Assembly attended by nearly 200 representatives of European anti-corruption institutions, CBA’s “#ABC of Integrity” initiative was recognised as the best project.
The initiative was a comprehensive programme promoting the idea of integrity and included educational and preventive activities addressed to different age groups. Its aim was to foster attitudes based on integrity and responsibility at successive stages of human development.
