Further Charges in the Investigation into Collegium Humanum

Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau have detained more individuals involved in a corruption scheme related to the issuance of illegal diplomas. The prosecutor has brought a total of 15 charges concerning acts committed between 2017 and 2021. The multi-threaded investigation is supervised by the Silesian Branch Office of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice.

On 22–23 December 2025, officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Rzeszów, acting on the order of a prosecutor from the Silesian Branch Office of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Katowice, detained further individuals. This marks the 14th procedural operation in the ongoing investigation—within the strand concerning irregularities in the functioning of the former Collegium Humanum university. Officers searched several locations and secured evidentiary material.

Corruption charges

The detained individuals were presented by the prosecutor with a total of 15 charges relating to acts committed between 2017 and 2021. The charges include, among others: offering financial benefits in exchange for obtaining diplomas falsely certifying completion of postgraduate studies, paid influence-peddling in connection with the issuance of documents confirming completion of postgraduate studies and uniform master’s degree programs, using documents certifying false information in applications to serve on supervisory boards, as well as invoking influence within the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

Non-custodial preventive measures

The suspects provided extensive explanations. The prosecutor decided to apply non-custodial preventive measures, including financial bail in the amount of PLN 50,000, police supervision, and a ban on contacting specified individuals.

The case is ongoing

The preparatory proceedings were initiated on the basis of a notification submitted by the Head of the CBA. The investigation also examines other threads related to criminal activity detrimental to the public interest. To date, a total of 82 individuals have been charged in the entire investigation, with 403 charges brought overall.
