Corruption operation disrupted
Officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau detained four men from a development company in Warsaw and Poznań. The investigation into providing financial benefits to public officials is being supervised by the Masovian Branch of the Department for Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor’s Office in Warsaw.
On 11 September 2025, officers of the Regional Office of the CBA in Warsaw detained four men representing affiliated companies of a real estate development company. The detainees were allegedly providing financial benefits to an employee of the Poznań Municipal Roads Authority (ZDM). The operation, carried out in Masovia and Greater Poland, was also supported by CBA officers from Poznań and Łódź. Officers secured extensive accounting documentation, electronic devices, cash, and collector’s coins.
Financial Benefits
The Regional Office of the CBA in Warsaw is conducting an investigation into providing financial benefits to public officials employed at the Poznań Municipal Roads Authority. The investigation findings indicate that the detained men allegedly transferred approximately PLN 400,000 between 2023 and 2025 to the Head of the External Coordination Department of the Poznań Municipal Roads Authority, who is currently in custody. The bribes were intended to facilitate the implementation of construction projects in Poznań.
Preventive Measures
The detained men were brought to the Masovian Branch of the Department of Organized Crime and Corruption of the National Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw. The prosecutor charged them under Article 229 of the Polish Criminal Code.
The prosecutor imposed non-custodial preventive measures on the suspects, including bail totaling PLN 350,000, a ban on contact with specific individuals, and police supervision.
Ongoing Investigation
This is the second operation carried out in the ongoing investigation. So far, 14 charges have been brought against nine individuals, with one person remaining in temporary custody. Further procedural steps are planned.
