Detained civil servants in Elbląg district
The detentions of the suspects are related to the investigation into the abuse of public office.
On Tuesday, 29 August 2023, the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau officers of the Regional Office in Białystok detained five persons, including an office holder of the Elbląg poviat authorities and the Mayor of the Municipal and Communal Office in Młynary. The detentions are part of an investigation conducted under the supervision of the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz into the use of public office to gain financial advantage.
The detainees were taken to the District Public Prosecutor's Office in Bydgoszcz, where they will face charges. Proceedings in this case are ongoing, and upon their completion, the prosecutor will decide on the application of preventive measures.
