Officers of the CBA Regional Office in Lublin detained two employees of the Poviat Road Administration in Puławy and a construction entrepreneur. The investigation is supervised by the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość.
Two officials and an entrepreneur detained
On Monday (5 May 2023), officers of the CBA Regional Office in Lublin detained two employees of the Poviat Road Authority in Puławy and a local entrepreneur operating in the construction industry. The investigation has been carried out under the supervision of the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość.
CBA officers searched nine locations in the Lubelszczyzna and Wielkopolska regions.
The evidence gathered in the conducted preparatory proceedings shows that one of the employees of the Poviat Road Administration in Puławy in exchange for a material advantage disclosed information about the ongoing public procurement at his place of employment.
The two detained employees had misappropriated public property belonging to the Road Administration, including construction materials.
They faced charges in the District Prosecutor's Office in Zamość
One of the employees of the Poviat Road Administration faced charges of corruption, exceeding powers in connection with his public function, and disclosure of information concerning public procurement. The charge of misappropriation of property was presented to both employees of the Puławy Road Administration.
The entrepreneur faced charges of giving financial advantages to persons performing public functions.
The prosecutor issued a decision on the application of non-custodial preventive measures against one detainee while against two persons he submitted motions to the court for the application of custody. The court granted the prosecutor's motions for pre-trial detention for the two detainees.
The investigation is developing, further detentions are not excluded.
