Notification to the Prosecutor's Office after CBA’s analysis

Analysis of the probability of extorting subsidies within the frame of the “Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Businesses” by persons connected with enterprises from the Lubelskie Voivodeship resulted in a notification to the Public Prosecutor's Office.

From 6 September to 5 October 2022, officers of the Control Proceedings Division of the CBA Regional Office in Lublin analysed the probability of extorting subsidies within the frame of the “Financial Shield of the Polish Development Fund for Micro, Small and Medium-Sized Businesses” by persons connected with enterprises from the Lubelskie Voivodeship.

In the course of analytical and information activities, it was disclosed that presidents of two companies based in the Lubelskie Voivodeship submitted applications that certified an untruth with an intent to obtain subsidies paid by the Polish Development Fund S.A. The documents concerned the disbursement of subsidies by the Polish Development Fund to economic entities affected by negative financial consequences in connection with the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic. The documentation gathered in the case evidenced undue payment of financial resources exceeding the total amount of PLN 200,000.

Due to the irregularities disclosed, on 16 December the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau submitted a notice of the possibility of having committed a criminal offence to the Department for Economic Crime of the National Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw.
