Kick-off conference (S4ACA)

The project which started in November 2014 is going to be followed by a Kick-Off-Conference organized by the CBA in cooperation with BAK.

The Central Anticorruption Bureau along with Austrian Federal Bureau of Anti-Corruption (BAK) and with associate partner – EUROPOL, is implementing the project "SIENA for Anti-Corruption Authorities (S4ACA)" co-financed from the EU Programme "Prevention of and Fight against Crime 2007-2013 (ISEC)".

The project which started in November 2014 is going to be followed by a Kick-Off-Conference organized by the CBA in cooperation with BAK, which will be held from 24 February to 27 February 2015 in Krakow, Poland.

The main objective of the Kick-Off-Conference is to raise awareness about the necessity for a secure data and information exchange among anti-corruption authorities. One of the crucial goals is to introduce the idea behind S4ACA (overall objective, process, targets set for the project) as well as to present SIENA as the communication channel for operational data and the Europol Platform for Experts (EPE) as the communication channel for non-operational data. Moreover the primary aim of the event is to share information about SIENA’s features and functionalities and the requirements to get connected (technical, legal, institutional).

Furthermore the Kick-Off-Conference seeks to make a preliminary assessment as to which authorities could be connected swiftly and which authorities would principally be suitable for a connection, but would have to create the necessary legal or technical conditions first. Therefore the first activity of the project aims to initiate a process of more in-depth enquiries, reflections and consultations at national level for those countries/ authorities.

The target group are senior officials of all European ACAs interested in connecting to SIENA and/or EPE.
