Detentions in reference to theft and handling stolen goods

The Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice detained four people in connection with buying stolen equipment by one of the coal mines in Silesia (Śląsk). Losses of Silesian mines, as a result of the offense, exceed 450 thousands PLN.

Officers from the Regional Office of the CBA in Katowice detained four people who acted to the detriment of one of the Silesian mines. During the investigation the officers found that the mine could have lost 450 thousand PLN.  As it turned out, the representatives of two private firms were buying stolen equipment, which consequently was forwarded to the mine.

More people is also involved in the case, who were already charged by the Prosecutor's Office. Those persons legalized the origin of stolen equipment by issuing false invoices, for which they received commission.

The equipment and mining machines delivered to the mine, did not meet the standards of mining activities, and did not have the certificate of Higher Mining Authority.

One of the businessmen acquired stolen machines and mining equipment for the amount exceeding 4 million PLN, moreover they exposed to the depletion of VAT (tax) for more than 1.5 million PLN.

District Prosecutor's Office in Katowice put charges to the detainees of handling stolen goods and theft. All persons got bail bonds, additionally one of them has been the subject to the supervision of the Police.
