CENTRAL ANTI-CORRUPTION BUREAU always in the interest of Poland Study visit of the CBA in the Ukrainian NABU - News -

The Head of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau Ernest Bejda, associated by a CBA delegation, participated in an official study visit in Kiev, Ukraine, at the invitation of the NABU’s Director Artem Sytnik. The Ukrainian anti-corruption service was revisited by the representatives of the CBA.

The aim of the meeting was getting familiar with the activities and tasks of the newly established National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. Future cooperation between the CBA and the NABU was also discussed. In May 2016, both services signed a Memorandum of Understanding providing legal grounds for joint undertakings.

The main topics of the talks were the areas of potential cooperation between the CBA and the NABU, the CBA’s support to the Ukrainian service within the framework of its future development as well as proposals of training courses for the NABU’s representatives.

On the final day of the visit, the Head of the CBA met the Management of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM) and the Management of the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption (NAPC).

The meeting created an opportunity for first contacts between the CBA and the NAPC. Part of the NAPC’s tasks relates to the CBA’s competence. Common areas of activities of both institutions are, among others, the anti-corruption strategy and methodology, conflict of interest, asset declarations and verification of transparent financing of political parties. The meeting between the CBA and the NAPC was facilitated by the EUAM, which previously supported the arrangement of the visit of the NABU representatives at the seat of the CBA in May 2016.
