Former vice president of Industrial Development Agency detained

Today, the court will decide whether or not the former vice president of the Industrial Development Agency Patrycja Z. and the President of WASKO S.A. Wojciech W., both detained by the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau on Wednesday, will be remanded in custody.

The CBA has confirmed that the CBA officers detained the former vice president of the Industrial Development Agency Patrycja Z., the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and co-owner of the Nowy Styl Group Jerzy K., the President of WASKO S.A. Wojciech W., and 3 other persons. The case pertains to giving financial advantages and money laundering in the years 2014-2015.

All persons were presented with allegations of corruption - giving and acceptance of financial advantages and providing assistance in the acceptance of such advantages. Moreover, the former vice president of the Industrial Development Agency was presented with an allegation of abuse of power, and one of the persons is suspected of money laundering.

The CBA’s activities have been carried out in its entirety within an investigation into corruption and unlawful running of official errands at the Industrial Development Agency by the Regional Office of the CBA in Rzeszów, under supervision of the Masovian Field Division of the Organised Crime and Corruption Department of the National Public Prosecutor’s Office. 

The Industrial Development Agency is a 100% state-owned company with assets of over PLN 6 billion. It is a first degree holder of budgetary funds and money from the European Union.
