An official accepted a bribe in exchange for consent to the sale of agricultural property

On February 7, 2024, pursuant to Art. 308 of the Polish Code of Criminal Procedure, officers of the CBA Regional Office in Szczecin took urgent actions and detained three men in the Masovian Voivodeship in connection with the acceptance of a financial benefit in the amount of PLN 5,000.00 by an official of the National Agricultural Support Center - Field Branch in Warsaw in exchange for acting as an intermediary in settling the matter between two brothers, namely, obtaining consent to the sale of agricultural real estate.

During the activities, officers of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau searched and secured evidence in the form of documentation related to the sale of agricultural real estate and the required consent of the National Support Center for Agriculture, as well as electronic equipment: company computers, electronic devices and mobile phones. As a result of the searches, funds in the amount of PLN 120,000.00, $5,000.00 and €10,000.00 were seized. The main evidence in this case is a secured financial benefit in the form of cash in the amount of PLN 5,000.00, revealed during the search of the official's vehicle.

The suspects were taken to the West Pomeranian Branch of the National Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, where they were charged under Art. 228 Polish Penal Code, Art. 229 of the Polish Penal Code in connection with Art. 230a of the Polish Penal Code

The suspects admitted to corruption
