The notification is the result of a control completed in the PLL SA (Polskie Linie Lotnicze S.A. – Polish Airlines Company) concerning the procedures for taking and implementing decisions on the disposal of property by the Port Lotniczy Lublin S.A in the years 2014 - 2016. The case refers to a contract concluded in March 2014 by Port Lotniczy Lublin S.A with a Romanian carrier.

The findings of the CBA controllers indicate, that not timely paid small dues by the PLL S.A. (approx. € 4000), resulted in freezing by the Romanian company and not returning of nearly 100 times a bigger amount to the airport, paid out by the airport for the compensation of settlements – i.e. a deposit in the amount of € 400,000. Such a contract was concluded, allowing the Romanian enterprise to undertake the operations.

In the course of further analysis of the cooperation between the airport and the carrier, the CBA officers determined that the PLL S.A. financed a promotional contract by paying from its own budget the amount of € 400,000 to the account of the Romanian company even though the money for promotions should come entirely and exclusively from private trading partners of the Port Lotniczy Lublin S.A. and from sponsors, such as SPA centres, tour operators, etc. - promotion and advertising would concern exactly them.

The inspectors emphasize that in that way the airport in Lublin financed the promotional activities to the benefit of the third parties, paying for it € 400,000.

The CBA requested the District Prosecutor's Office in Lublin to vest the proceedings in its entirety in the officers of the CBA in Lublin.
